Job Description

We are seeking a highly qualified Middle School Teacher to join our team at Stepstone Academy. The ideal candidate will be passionate about urban education and committed to creating a positive, structured atmosphere for students to learn and grow.

The Middle School Teacher will be responsible for planning and implementing a program of study that enables students to learn, play, and develop in an optimal manner, producing successful outcomes in accordance with Federal, State, and Local standards.

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in Middle Childhood Education and a valid Ohio Driver's License with a safe driving record and valid insurance. They will also be able to take and pass a physical exam, tuberculosis clearance, and drug screening.

We require and cover the cost of a fingerprint background screening, physical, Tuberculosis test, and drug screen after an employment offer is made. Any employment offer is contingent upon receipt of all satisfactory pre-employment screenings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement lesson plans and activities that guide students towards meeting and exceeding academic standards
  • Develop and communicate timelines related to the Common Core
  • Conduct daily instruction, portfolio development, and evaluate students' academic and social growth
  • Manage classroom environment and all associated responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain standards of what students need to know to reach or exceed Annual Yearly Progress (AYP)
