Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Metrology Supervisor to join our team at Calibration Laboratory, LLC. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our laboratory, ensuring that our quality management system is upheld, and providing guidance and support to our calibration technicians.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership and Supervision
- Provide motivation, coaching, and guidance to calibration technicians
- Ensure staff understand and comply with laboratory policies
- Understand and contribute to the lab's goals, while effectively implementing team building and team facilitation skills to accomplish the goals
- Quality Assurance
- Ensure staff awareness and enforcement of the company Quality Policy
- Ensure Quality Checks are performed for in-house and onsite service as directed by the Quality Manager
- Possess a high level of understanding of the Quality Management System's policies, procedures, including training and enforcement to all staff members
- Production Control
- Establish and ensure calibration and repair production schedules, goals, and priorities are accomplished
- Organize workflow and ensure that employees understand their duties or delegated tasks
- Monitor employee productivity and provide constructive feedback and coaching
- Client Service
- Promptly address customer requests, inquiries, and complaints, taking actions as appropriate to satisfy the customer or resolve the issue
- Set priorities based on customers' requirements and give high priority to satisfying customers through listening, understanding, and anticipating customer needs
- Administrative Tasks
- Perform equipment check-out and check-in for calibration equipment that is issued to technicians for onsite jobs
- Perform initial contract review process in the form of the customer's current SCS and submitted customer purchase orders
- Ensure all laboratory spaces, workbenches, technician benches, kitchen areas are kept clean and tidy, including performing weekly cleaning inspections with the Quality and Metrology Managers
Requirements
- A minimum of 2 years working in a calibration laboratory with a strong management or supervisory skills
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds unassisted
- Candidate MUST be willing to travel to local and regional on-site locations, with occasional overnight travel to surrounding states
