Job Summary and Qualifications
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Assigning, validating, and editing codes/DRGs for inpatient records across multiple facilities using ICD-10CM and ICD-10-PCS.
- Ensuring accurate coding for diagnoses and procedures, including Present On Admission (POA) documentation.
- Maintaining productivity and accuracy standards in coding practices.
- Collaborating with healthcare professionals to ensure compliance with coding policies.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this position, you should possess:
- A High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management (HIM) or Health Information Technology (HIT) is preferred.
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in acute care hospital inpatient coding, with 3 years preferred.
- Relevant certifications such as RHIA, RHIT, or CCS are advantageous.
