Position Summary:
The role of a Registered Nurse (RN) is crucial in fostering health and preventing illness. RNs deliver expert nursing care to patients who are acutely ill, recovering, or managing chronic conditions, as directed by the Medical Staff. Many RNs specialize as Medical Surgical nurses, concentrating on comprehensive patient care. They are responsible for administering medications under physician supervision and meticulously documenting patient symptoms and progress. Additionally, Medical Surgical nurses oversee licensed practical nurses (LPNs), nursing assistants (CNAs), and nursing students.
Key Responsibilities:
Evaluate patients and execute nursing duties tailored to the specific care standards for varying ages and diagnoses.
Engage in effective communication with Providers, Charge Nurses, and team members regarding any changes in patient clinical status, including diagnostic results and symptomatology.
React promptly and accurately to alterations in patient conditions or treatment responses. Carry out general nursing responsibilities across all departments with appropriate supervision. Adhere to the Five Rights of Medication Administration to minimize the risk of medication errors.
Develop a patient education plan based on identified learning needs and assess the effectiveness of the instruction; include family or caregivers in the teaching process as necessary.
Foster respectful, dignified, and empathetic interactions with patients, families, colleagues, and Providers. Recognize and address the psychosocial, cultural, ethnic, and spiritual needs of patients and their families or caregivers.Exhibit knowledge of growth and development principles across the lifespan and possess the skills required to deliver age-appropriate care to the patient demographic served.
Maintain accurate documentation of patient care in accordance with established standards and policies. Participate in and support the orientation of new personnel and all available in-service training. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.Position Urgency:

Shifts:
Night Shift: 7:00 pm - 7:30 am; 12-hour shifts. Rotating days. No on-call duties.
State License Requirements:
Must hold an active license
