Position Overview:

The Secondary English Language Arts Educator will employ evidence-based methodologies to deliver engaging instruction in English, Language, Arts, and Reading. This role aims to foster holistic development in students—academically, spiritually, socially, and physically.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver comprehensive instruction in English language, literature, composition, and reading tailored for high school learners.
  • Design and implement lesson plans that align with curriculum standards, including those set by the Common Core and the State of Texas.
  • Utilize differentiated instruction and student-centered approaches to facilitate collaboration and creative thinking, catering to the diverse needs of students in a college-preparatory environment.
  • Employ effective strategies and activities to enhance student performance and encourage positive social interactions.
  • Conduct and evaluate assessments—pre-assessments, ongoing assessments, and summative assessments—to inform instructional practices.
  • Provide constructive feedback on assessments to support student learning.
  • Establish and maintain clear expectations for classroom conduct.
  • Ensure a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment at all times.
  • Offer guidance to students requiring academic and social support.
  • Communicate proactively with parents regarding student progress and development.
  • Maintain accurate attendance and grading records.
  • Coordinate the use of field trips, guest speakers, and various media to enrich the learning experience.
  • Participate in faculty meetings, in-service training, and other collaborative opportunities.
Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Education, Liberal Arts, English, or Literature from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of three years of relevant teaching experience, preferably in a Christian educational setting.
  • State Teacher certification or ACSI certification is required.
  • Preferred training in Understanding by Design, Response to Intervention, or Differentiated Instruction.

  • Engaging in spiritual growth through active participation in church activities.
  • Contributing a minimum of 10% of income to the church's ministry.
  • Volunteering in church ministries.
  • Adhering to the Church Constitution and By-Laws.
Physical Requirements:

The role requires the ability to:
  • Stand, reach, and communicate effectively.
  • Walk and use hands for various tasks.
  • Occasionally sit and lift/move items up to 25 pounds.
