We are seeking a skilled Capital Project Manager to lead the expansion project at a prominent manufacturer in Colonial Heights, VA.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for capital projects execution at Honeywell, Colonial Heights, ensuring timely completion and adherence to budgetary constraints.
  • Foster strong relationships with Engineering contractors, overseeing the FEED/FEL-3 process for ISBL and OSBL equipment, and providing input on approval drawings.
  • Conduct thorough site visits during bid walks with contractors, reviewing proposals and responding promptly to RFIs.
  • Support project management through various stages, including scope development, risk assessments, budgeting, engineering/design, procurement, construction execution, commissioning, startup, and final project closure documentation.
  • Promote a culture of safety awareness, enforcing policies and procedures, participating in construction safety audits, and attending contractor safety meetings to minimize risks.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, preferably Mechanical; other disciplines are also acceptable.
  • 5-10 years of experience in project engineering, preferably in chemical or heavy industry, continuous process plant, or design engineering firm.
  • Working knowledge of piping and mechanical systems, including isometrics, manual valves, specialty items, packaged skid units, chillers, cooling towers, etc.
  • Familiarity with industrial work practices and their impact on Health, Safety, and Environmental aspects.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in oil, petrochemical, or chemical operating facilities; other heavy industry experience such as pulp & paper is also acceptable.
  • Background in operations, process engineering, technology, maintenance, construction, construction management, or HSE.
  • Working knowledge of project management processes, stage gate processes, and project control functions, including estimating, scheduling, and cost control.
  • SAP software expertise preferred.
