We are seeking a skilled Travel Nurse to join our team in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) setting. As a Travel Nurse, you will have the opportunity to work with a variety of patients and gain valuable experience in a fast-paced environment.
About the JobThe PCU is a dynamic unit that requires close monitoring and frequent assessment of patients who require more intensive care than a regular medical-surgical floor but are not unstable enough for an ICU setting. In this role, you will utilize computer equipment to monitor cardiac and other vital information, detecting any changes and enabling intervention when necessary.
Responsibilities- Provide basic bedside care and stabilize critical cardiac patients
- Change dressings, insert catheters, and start IVs as needed
- Prepare, administer, and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment
- Monitor and adjust specialized equipment used on patients, and interpret and record electronic displays
- Initiate corrective action whenever information from monitoring equipment shows adverse symptomatology
To be successful in this role, you should possess:
- 1-2 years of recent acute care experience
- ACLS and BLS certifications
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods, bend, lean, and stoop without difficulty
- Ability to easily lift 20 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
- Good skills for coping with stress and ability to relate to people of all ages and backgrounds
This travel nursing position offers a competitive salary of $1600 per week, based on 12-hour shifts and 36 hours per week, with tax-free stipend amount to be determined. Additionally, we offer a range of benefits, including paid sick leave, travel reimbursement, liability insurance, vision, dental, and health insurance from day one.
