Position Overview:
The Lead Ski Race Coach is responsible for delivering exceptional ski instruction and coaching to athletes, ensuring their development in a safe and enjoyable environment while adhering to all safety regulations and company policies. Our in-house team offers foundational support and remarkable growth potential.
Position Specifications:
- Expected Pay Range: $25.99 / hour
- Shift & Schedule: Full Time, including Weekends and Holidays
- Skill Level: Advanced
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain the highest standards of safety for guests and oneself across various terrains and weather conditions.
- Provide clear and effective skiing instruction to students, both verbally and physically.
- Ensure athletes are appropriately matched to their skill levels and collaborate with supervisors to make necessary adjustments.
- Assist guests with loading and unloading from the chairlift.
- Communicate instructions clearly and support athletes during training and competitions.
- Supervise athletes during training, assist during meal breaks, and ensure their safe return to guardians.
- Contribute to the operational aspects of competition services and related programs, including registration, equipment fitting, and maintaining training areas.
- Perform other assigned duties as required.
Job Requirements:
- Certification from PSIA/AASI and/or USSA/FIS.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Participation in Ski and Ride training sessions.
- Basic proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, and internet navigation.
- Fluency in English, both spoken and written.
- Strong guest service and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Willingness to work in challenging weather conditions at high altitudes.
- Physical capabilities to learn skills, follow directions, and provide guidance.
- Availability to work on weekends and holidays.
- Ability to frequently lift, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in teaching, coaching, or mentoring.
- Experience coaching winter sports athletes of various ages.
- Previous ski or snowboard coaching experience.
- Familiarity with the local area and resort.
The expected pay range is $25.99. This is the anticipated compensation for this position, with individual decisions based on various factors.
