Position Summary:
The Production Machine Maintenance Technician is tasked with conducting routine inspections, upkeep, and basic troubleshooting of various production machinery, including but not limited to pad printing, screen printing, digital printing, sticker printing, laser engraving, heat transfer, and CNC machines. A robust understanding of electrical and pneumatic control systems is essential to guarantee seamless and effective operations.
Core Responsibilities:
- Machine Upkeep: Execute regular maintenance inspections on production equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
- Troubleshooting: Identify and rectify basic mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues to minimize operational downtime.
- Preventive Maintenance: Establish and adhere to a preventive maintenance schedule to mitigate unexpected breakdowns and extend machinery lifespan.
- Calibration: Adjust and calibrate machinery as necessary to maintain precise performance and high-quality production.
- Record Keeping: Keep comprehensive records of all maintenance activities, including repairs and parts replacements, to maintain a thorough maintenance history.
- Safety Standards: Comply with all company policies, health and safety regulations, and environmental guidelines to ensure machines are operated and maintained safely.
- Inventory Management: Oversee and manage spare parts inventory, ensuring timely procurement and stocking of essential components.
- Technical Collaboration: Work alongside production and technical teams to provide insights and support regarding machine operations and maintenance protocols.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or associate degree in mechanics, electronics, or a related field preferred.
- Experience: At least 2 years of experience in a maintenance capacity, ideally within a printing or manufacturing environment. Experience in electrical engineering is advantageous.
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with electrical control systems and pneumatic systems used in production machinery.
- Skills: Proficient in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues; experience with lathe, digital milling, drill press, cutting machines, and general hand tools.
- Attention to Detail: Strong focus on precision in color formulation and mixing.
- Independence: Ability to work autonomously while managing multiple tasks effectively.
- Calibration Knowledge: Understanding of calibration techniques for printing and engraving machinery.
- Computer Skills: Basic proficiency in computer-aided design.
- Organizational Skills: Excellent record-keeping and organizational abilities.
- Communication: Effective communication skills for collaboration with internal teams and documentation of maintenance activities.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills to quickly troubleshoot and resolve machine-related issues.
- Physical Capability: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a physically demanding environment.
