Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Operations Development Specialist to join our team at UFP Industries.

About the Role

This is an entry-level position that involves learning and growing with our company, developing skills in design, estimation, and operations management. The successful candidate will have a strong background in drafting, CAD, construction, or framing, as well as excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design components using MiTek software and work closely with sales force to ensure customer requirements are met.
  • Maintain a good working relationship with fellow employees and assist in training and development of other designers (as required).
  • Work closely with retail clients, builders, framers, and developers to answer design questions and offer design solutions.
  • Grow and maintain strong customer relationships and place orders within our production system.
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Drafting, CAD, construction, or framing background highly preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, mathematical skills required to calculate concentrated and uniform loads.
  • Working knowledge of floor and roof systems and ability to spec out beams and hangers.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to work independently manage multiple tasks, set priorities, and meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to sit at a desk for long amounts of time, proficiency in the use of the English language in reading, writing, and speaking.
  • Good people skills with strong customer service attitude and proper phone etiquette.
