About the Job

Dexis Consulting Group is seeking a highly experienced Investigative Journalism Capacity Building Specialist to support the delivery of a specialized training for Timor-Leste journalists. The training aims to build capacity to conduct research-based investigative journalism with anti-corruption and good governance perspectives.

The selected candidate will work closely with the AJTL and relevant government and CSO partners to design and deliver the training program. The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in journalism training, with a focus on research-based investigative journalism and anti-corruption issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver a specialized training program for Timor-Leste journalists to build their capacity in research-based investigative journalism.
  • Work with the AJTL and relevant partners to develop a three-year training plan to sustain the effort to build capacity of national journalists.
  • Provide studies, reports, and relevant materials to support the work of AJTL journalists as they engage in investigative journalism.

Requirements:

  • Relevant university education in journalism or a related field (or 10 years of professional experience plus a degree in a related technical area).
  • At least 5 years of experience in journalism training, preferably in research-based investigative journalism.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders.
