The Department of Developmental Services (DDS) is seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to fill the role of DIRECT CARE WORKER II (DCW II).

This position serves as a shift supervisor, providing oversight and direct services to individuals with developmental disabilities.

As a valued member of our team, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of our clients and contribute to the mission of DDS.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide daily supervision and training to Direct Care Worker I staff to ensure they are acting as advocates for the individuals and demonstrating respect and positive regard for individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Oversee the health and safety of the individuals by administering medications and communicating with medical and healthcare providers as necessary.
  • Accompany individuals to various appointments and provide support with personal care and nutritional needs.

Requirements:

  • At least one year of full-time or equivalent part-time experience in providing direct support services to persons with developmental/intellectual, emotional, or physical disabilities.
  • Associate's degree or higher in a human services field, including sociology, special education, psychology, rehabilitation counseling, occupational therapy, physical therapy, or other related field.
