Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team at Adventist Health Howard Memorial. As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you will work under the supervision of licensed physical therapists to provide physical therapy treatments, including the use of modalities, manual techniques, and common exercise techniques.

You will instruct and guide patients through functional activities, such as bed mobility, transfers, gait, and balance activities. Your role will also involve observing and following treatment precautions as identified by physical therapists, nurses, or physicians, and reporting changes to nurses and physical therapists in charge.

As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you will provide daily and timely patient chart documentation of interventions and services provided in the acute care setting. You will also provide education and training to patients and caregivers, while incorporating learning style preferences, and assess education and training responses.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform physical therapy treatments, including the use of modalities, manual techniques, and common exercise techniques.

Requirements:
  • High School Education/GED or equivalent: Required
  • Associate's/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Required
  • Two years' physical therapy or technical experience: Preferred
  • Physical Therapy Assistant licensure in the state of practice: Required
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQIBLS) certification: Required
