Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Admissions Counselor to join our team at Acadia Healthcare. As an Admissions Counselor, you will play a critical role in ensuring a smooth and efficient admission process for our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to inquiries about our facility in a timely and professional manner.
  • Develop therapeutic relationships with patients and their families to ensure a positive experience.
  • Perform benefit eligibility checks to ensure patients have active benefits at the time of admission.
  • Collaborate with medical and psychiatric personnel to ensure accurate recommendations for referrals.
  • Coordinate admission and transfer processes from referral sources and between levels of care.
  • Maintain knowledge of milieu management principles.
  • Communicate projected admissions to internal representatives promptly.
  • Ensure all clinical information is received prior to patient admission, when possible.
  • Schedule and complete pre-admission assessments, consult with admitting physicians, and communicate disposition recommendations.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate medical record documentation to support authorization.
  • Complete initial pre-authorization for treatment and admission, when possible.
  • Admit patients in the registration and accounting system, complete admission and consent forms.
  • Demonstrate a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude towards patients and families.
Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree or higher in Social Services.
