Position: Voice Engineer

Location: Troy NY (5 days Onsite)

Overview:

The role entails providing engineering support to clients in relation to voice and data systems. Responsibilities include the physical installation and removal of communication devices, as well as offering remote assistance during incidents and scheduled maintenance. Tasks also involve performing backups and reboots of voice customer premises equipment (CPE), and managing the implementation of security patches and policy adjustments.

Essential Skills:

Proficiency in troubleshooting and managing Avaya Voice Platform software and hardware, Nice Call Recording, Cisco Call Manager, Cisco NAC, BVOIP (IP Flex & TAO), IP Toll Free services, and various softphone applications is required. Experience with Smart Hands for Voice/Data Equipment and conducting Planned Maintenance is also essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist clients during downtime, oversee incident management, and execute routine updates on customer devices.
  • Manage escalations effectively.
  • Participate in regular meetings.
  • Provide executive-level support to various stakeholders.
  • Create customized reports as needed.
  • Conduct both on-site and remote health assessments.
  • Facilitate process changes and support project initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with change control protocols.
  • Maintain ticket updates and perform administrative tasks.
  • Be available for after-hours support during critical downtimes.

Qualifications:

  • Strong communication abilities.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in voice and data environments.
  • In-depth knowledge of voice platforms.
  • Familiarity with Routing, Switching, Telco-Transport Layer, Mobility, and ISP frameworks, including LAN, WAN, IP, Enterprise Networks, SIP, and BvOIP.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to convey complex technical concepts in a clear and understandable manner.
  • Resourceful and capable of working independently.
  • Excellent time management and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in managing multiple tasks with changing priorities.
