Job Summary:

Mental Health Technicians, PRN, provide direct patient care under the supervision of the charge nurse at Austin Oaks Hospital, a UHS facility. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating a safe and therapeutic milieu, intervening in crisis situations, and assisting with activities of daily living. This role requires flexibility to work with diverse patient populations, including children, adolescents, and adults with varying diagnoses.

Responsibilities:

Provide direct patient care under the supervision of the charge nurse
Create a safe and therapeutic milieu for patients
Intervene in crisis situations to ensure patient safety
Assist with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, and feeding
Demonstrate flexibility to work with diverse patient populations

Requirements:

High School Diploma or Equivalent
One year prior psychiatric experience preferred
CPR Certification
Human behavior skills, including therapeutic relationships, age-specific growth and development, limit setting, crisis and behavior management
