We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team at Emory Healthcare. As a Pulmonary/Thoracic/Vascular Surgery Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in our Intermediate/Progressive Care Unit (PCU).
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care to patients undergoing pulmonary, thoracic, and vascular surgery, including those with complex needs and life-saving procedures.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans, ensuring seamless transitions and optimal patient outcomes.
- Utilize evidence-based practices and the Synergy Model for Care to deliver patient-centered care, promoting a culture of excellence and respect.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams, ensuring clear and concise information exchange.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, identifying areas for growth and implementing strategies to enhance patient care and satisfaction.
- Contribute to a positive and supportive work environment, fostering a culture of teamwork and collaboration.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a valid, active unencumbered Nursing license or temporary permit approved by the Georgia Licensing Board.
- 12 months of recent nursing experience within the past five years or recent completion of a re-entry nursing program.
- BLS certification required, with ACLS certification may be required in designated departments.
The physical demands of this role include lifting up to 75 pounds, carrying objects up to 35 pounds, and frequent standing and walking. The work environment may involve exposure to blood-borne pathogens, bio-hazardous waste, chemicals, and other environmental factors.
