Job Title: Police Corporal

Prince George's Community College is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Police Corporal to join our team. As a Police Corporal, you will be responsible for performing a variety of law enforcement, crime prevention, and supervisory duties.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform law enforcement duties, including patrolling campus areas, responding to calls for service, and enforcing traffic laws and regulations.
  • Conduct investigations, gather evidence, and prepare reports.
  • Supervise and evaluate police officers, non-sworn employees, and contract security officers.
  • Provide assistance and advice to students, faculty, staff, and visitors on campus security regulations.
  • Perform related work as required.
Requirements:
  • Two years of college credit from an accredited institution or any combination of experience and education that could likely provide the knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Three years of experience as a certified police officer as stipulated by the Maryland Police & Corrections Training Commissions (MPCTC).
  • Completion of MPCTC training program for first-line supervision.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written standard English.
  • Ability to work Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Working Conditions:

The Police Corporal will work in a fast-paced environment, interacting with students, faculty, staff, and visitors. The position requires the ability to work in a team environment, think critically, and make sound judgments.
