You will work closely with the surgical team to provide exceptional patient care and support.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist surgeons and anesthesiologists during surgical procedures, maintaining a sterile environment and adhering to established protocols.
  • Prepare and maintain the operating room, including setting up equipment, sterilizing instruments, and managing supplies.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure seamless communication and efficient workflow.
  • Provide exceptional patient care, responding to their needs and concerns in a compassionate and professional manner.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development and implementation of best practices.
  • Assist with patient education, providing information and support to patients and their families.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation, adhering to regulatory requirements and Kaiser Permanente's policies and procedures.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest medical technologies and procedures, participating in ongoing education and training.
Requirements:
  • One (1) year of operating room or military equivalent experience in a scrub role within the last two (2) years or recent completion of an operating room training program.
  • Surgical Technologist Certificate within six (6) months of hire from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting.
  • Basic Life Support certification.
Additional Requirements:
  • Ability to scrub all types of surgical cases except open heart.
Work Environment:

This is a variable position with variable start times. Ten (10) hour shifts are available.
