Key Responsibilities:
As a Primary Care Physician, you will be tasked with delivering comprehensive healthcare services to veterans. Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing holistic primary care that addresses both acute and chronic health issues.
- Conducting mental health screenings and managing uncomplicated mental health disorders.
- Implementing preventative care measures, including age-appropriate cancer screenings and lifestyle counseling.
- Coordinating care with specialty providers to ensure seamless patient experiences.
- Managing a designated panel of patients, with panel size determined by organizational guidelines.
- Participating in departmental initiatives and special projects as required.
Work Schedule:
Standard working hours are from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- U.S. Citizenship is required; non-citizens may only be appointed when qualified citizens are unavailable.
- A Doctor of Medicine or equivalent degree from an accredited institution.
- A current, unrestricted medical license to practice in any U.S. state or territory.
- Completion of residency training in an accredited core specialty program.
- Proficiency in both spoken and written English.
Preferred Qualifications:
Board Certification or eligibility in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine is highly desirable.
Additional Information:
Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is mandatory for all healthcare personnel. Additionally, compliance with COVID-19 vaccination requirements is essential for all employees in the Veterans Health Administration.
