About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Gynecology team at Duke University Hospital. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide exceptional patient care and support to our patients with gynecological needs.

Job Summary

The Registered Nurse (RN) will be responsible for assessing nursing needs of acute and chronically ill patients and their families, planning, providing, and documenting professional nursing care in ambulatory settings. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and be able to work effectively with patients, families, visitors, healthcare teams, physicians, administrators, and leadership.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess nursing needs of acute and chronically ill patients and their families.
  • Plan, provide, and document professional nursing care in ambulatory settings, utilizing the nursing process, in accordance with physician orders and established policies and procedures.
  • Communicate clearly with patients, families, visitors, healthcare team, physicians, administrators, leadership, and others.
  • Collect and analyze patient data, make recommendations for nursing care plans, evaluate nursing care provided, document, and communicate appropriately nursing actions taken and patient responses.
  • Teach patients and families in accordance with the nursing plan of care.
  • Assist other nursing personnel in the delivery of patient care and serve as a team leader.
  • Monitor and initiate corrective action to maintain the environment of care, including equipment and material resources.
  • Participate in own professional development by maintaining required competencies, identifying learning needs, and seeking appropriate assistance or educational offerings.
  • Participate in the identification of clinical, operational, and safety-related performance improvement opportunities.
  • Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein (Phlebotomy, IV, Insertion).
Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited BSN program.
  • Current or compact RN licensure in the state of North Carolina.
  • BLS required.
  • Prior GYN or procedural experience as a RN is preferred.
  • New Graduates are welcome too.
