Career Development Specialist

At Equus Workforce Solutions, we are seeking a skilled Career Development Specialist to join our team. As a Career Development Specialist, you will play a critical role in helping job seekers and career changers prepare for and advance in careers with a focus on sustainable, high-growth, high-demand industries.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Counsels and assists customers regarding job search strategies, personal career advisement, and training issues.
  • Identifies and works with barriers to employment, professional goal setting, and planning.
  • Advises, monitors, and tracks participation for customers to maximize the functions and opportunities of the program.
  • Maintains knowledge and professional understanding of various occupations and career paths.
  • Provides motivational support to customers during the job search process.
  • Identifies training needs and ensures appropriate training.
  • Facilitates job readiness/search workshops.
  • Demonstrates effective use of the Case Management Model to support the needs of participants.
  • Successfully documents customer success stories internally and externally.
  • Analyzes and constructs critiques of resumes/required documentation for effective processing.
  • Administratively maintains accurate and complete records and correspondence.

  • Strong communication and organization skills.
  • Ability to relate well with individuals and motivate.
  • Knowledge of various job search strategies, resources, and action plans.
  • Ability to follow instructions well.
  • Adaptable, flexible, and a fast learner.
  • Creative and able to meet deadlines.
  • Works well under pressure and goal-oriented.
  • Demonstrated customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated computer skills, with experience using word processing and spreadsheet software applications.
  • Familiarity with the communities being served.
