The Kelly Group is currently in search of a Fitter/Welder to join our skilled workforce. This role involves working primarily with process piping, and candidates should possess their own hand tools along with a minimum of 2 to 3 years of relevant experience, ideally within the grain sector.

The responsibilities for this position include:

  • Assembling piping systems through precise measuring, cutting, bending, shaping, threading, soldering, and gluing using hand tools and equipment.
  • Interpreting blueprints, process flow diagrams, sketches, and product specifications effectively.
  • Creating materials lists by selecting appropriate types and sizes of pipes, supports, and related materials based on job specifications, drawings, or isometrics.
  • Successfully passing a bend test on a 2-inch schedule 160 carbon steel pipe in a 6G position utilizing gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW, TIG, Heliarc) for the root and hot pass, along with shielded metal arc welding (SMAW, stick) for fill and cap to achieve certification.
  • Executing work while adhering to safe work practices.
Additional preferred qualifications include:
  • Completion of OSHA 10-hour or equivalent training.
  • Experience in industrial construction.
  • Knowledge of AWS, ASME, and other welding codes and practices.
  • Willingness to travel, which may require extended stays away from home.
