Inpatient Pharmacy Professional

We are seeking an experienced Inpatient Pharmacist to join our team at a prominent hospital in Louisville, KY. This is a 13-week contract opportunity with potential for temp-to-hire.
Key Responsibilities- Order Verification and Medication Management
As an Inpatient Pharmacist, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and appropriateness of prescribed medications, taking into account patient-specific factors such as allergies and drug interactions. Your expertise will also involve pharmacokinetic monitoring, adjusting doses based on clinical data and pharmacokinetics.
Leadership and SupervisionYou will oversee pharmacy technicians to ensure proper medication preparation, labeling, and dispensing. Additionally, you will assist in resolving issues and provide guidance to optimize their performance.
Collaboration with Healthcare ProfessionalsYour excellent communication skills will enable you to consult with physicians and nurses, providing clinical advice on medication therapy. You will address questions and concerns related to drug interactions and patient care, contributing to treatment plans for complex cases.
Maintaining Compliance and Safety StandardsYou will maintain compliance with hospital protocols, state regulations, and Joint Commission standards for safe medication use, promoting a culture of excellence and accountability.
Requirements and Qualifications- Licensure and Certification
A valid active KY Pharmacist License is mandatory for this role. A PharmD degree is preferred, and previous experience in inpatient pharmacy settings is essential.
Clinical Judgment and Communication SkillsYou must possess strong clinical judgment and effective communication skills to work collaboratively with the healthcare team.
Ability to Work in a Fast-Paced EnvironmentThis role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment, adapting to changing circumstances while maintaining high-quality performance.
Compensation and BenefitsThe estimated salary range for this position is $120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement savings plan, and paid time off.
