Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our team at Workforce solutions - Virens Global Inc. As a Radiologic Technologist, you will be responsible for performing a variety of radiographic procedures, utilizing ionizing radiation for radiographic diagnosis. You will position patients to image the required anatomy for optimal results, enter proper technical parameters into the x-ray generating equipment, and perform various procedures in imaging areas such as fluoroscopy, diagnostic, surgical, portable, and CT.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform radiographic procedures, utilizing ionizing radiation for radiographic diagnosis.
  • Position patients to image the required anatomy for optimal results.
  • Enter proper technical parameters into the x-ray generating equipment.
  • Perform various procedures in imaging areas, including fluoroscopy, diagnostic, surgical, portable, and CT.
  • Operate imaging equipment, following established safety procedures to protect patients and staff from unnecessary radiation exposure.
  • Input proper operation parameters to ensure minimal retakes.
  • Operate radiographic and fluoroscopy units, utilizing knowledge to provide optimal images at the lowest achievable radiation level.
  • Operate portable and C-arm units, utilizing knowledge to provide optimal images at the lowest achievable radiation level.
  • Operate CT units, utilizing knowledge to provide optimal images at the lowest achievable radiation level.
  • Notify supervisors of any conditions that may pose a hazard.
  • Perform operation of various equipment to process images or enhance exams.
  • Operate digital radiographic equipment to process radiographic images at optimum level for interpretation by radiologists.
  • Operate PACS/telerad equipment to verify transmission of images to radiologists.
  • Access PACS system to verify images are available for radiologists' interpretation.
  • Operate laser printer to print images from the R&F unit or PACS.
  • Operate power injector for contrasted CT exams.
  • Assess patients' conditions accurately, determining their ability to comply with the physical requirements of the examination to minimize patient or examination problems.
  • Develop alternative methods to obtain required images and consult with radiologists in unusual circumstances to minimize problems.
  • Follow established radiation safety policies and procedures to protect patients and staff.
  • Utilize radiation exposure reduction techniques, such as proper collimation and lead shielding, to minimize radiation exposure.
  • Wear personal radiation monitoring devices daily.
  • Perform in a manner that ensures patient safety.
  • Utilize two patient identifiers.
  • Follow hand hygiene policy.
  • Administer contrast media, following established protocols.
  • Provide competent, safe, and effective patient care.
  • Obtain patient medical history pertinent to the exam ordered and supply the correct information to the radiologist.
  • Acquire clinical indication/contra indication for exams ordered.
  • Ensure patient reports are received in a timely manner for the physician.
  • Perform various administrative duties.
  • Schedule exams, coordinating schedules with available techs, mobile services, and radiologists.
  • Assume phone responsibilities.
  • Ensure patient charges are accurate for billing.
  • Organize work to achieve highest productivity and effective time management.
  • Maintain various supplies in the rooms' operations to provide efficient and effective departmental operations.
  • Find constructive ways to utilize downtime.
  • Able to be flexible in own workflow to accommodate additional workload or unexpected interruptions.
  • Able to prioritize greatest need in emergency/rapidly changing situations, and adjust accordingly while maintaining calm and composed.
Requirements
  • Current ARRT RT (R) credential.
  • Current Oregon license in Radiologic technology.
  • BLS.
  • 1+ years of experience in a Cath Lab/Angio.
  • ACLS (within 6 months of hire).
