Key Responsibilities:
1. **Surgical Assistance:**
- Collaborate with surgeons to confirm surgical cases prior to the procedure.
- Engage with patients in the preoperative area, clarifying your role and addressing any inquiries.
- Coordinate with operating room (OR) staff to ensure adherence to surgeon preferences and assist with patient positioning.

2. **Operational Efficiency:**
- Work cohesively with all OR personnel to initiate surgeries punctually and minimize turnover times.
- Support the surgical team with preoperative preparations, including radiographic studies and instrumentation setup.

3. **Quality Surgical Support:**
- Deliver high-quality surgical assistance by understanding and anticipating the surgeon's needs throughout the procedure.
- Adapt to various surgical styles and maintain effective communication with the surgical team.
- Ensure proper wound closure and dressing as per the surgeon's instructions.

4. **Postoperative Care:**
- Assist in the safe transition of patients to recovery areas and provide thorough handoff to recovery staff.
- Conduct a final check of dressings and drains before patient departure.

5. **Documentation and Collaboration:**
- Maintain meticulous clinical documentation, ensuring timely completion.
- Participate in clinical and management initiatives aimed at enhancing team performance and education.

Qualifications:
- Must possess a valid state license and hold the National Commissioned Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) for Physician Assistants.
- A minimum of one year of surgical experience is required.
- Graduates from an accredited Master's Degree program in Physician Assistant Studies or a Master/Doctoral Degree in Nurse Practitioner Studies are preferred.

Preferred Skills:
- Experience in assisting with spine surgeries (orthopedic or neuro) and familiarity with robotic surgical systems.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with the ability to adapt to diverse personalities and needs.
