Position Summary:
We are excited to announce an opportunity for a Licensed Clinical Assistant to become a part of our team at Barnabas Health Medical Group. In this role, you will undertake a variety of clinical and administrative responsibilities under the supervision of a healthcare professional. Your clinical responsibilities will encompass monitoring vital signs, documenting patient histories, preparing individuals for examinations, collecting blood samples, managing prescription renewals, and assisting with minor medical procedures as necessary. Furthermore, you will act as a representative of our practice, ensuring a positive experience for patients, prioritizing their safety, and maintaining confidentiality.
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Current BLS Certification recognized by the American Heart Association
- Certification as a Medical Assistant from accredited organizations
- At least 6 months of relevant experience or equivalent educational background
- Strong attention to detail and precision
- Familiarity with medical terminology
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and work effectively under pressure
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Collaborative team player with the capability to work independently
- Experience in vital sign measurement and patient evaluation
- Medication administration as directed
- Dedication to patient safety and satisfaction
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in Phlebotomy and EKG procedures
- Knowledge of electronic health record systems
Mandatory Certifications:
- BLS Certification recognized by the American Heart Association
- Medical Assistant Certification from accredited organizations
Work Schedule:
- Full-Time position with shift work, Monday through Friday
- Occasional Saturday shifts may be required
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute various clinical tasks including EKGs, vaccinations, and medication administration
- Assist with practice operations through clerical duties such as appointment scheduling and insurance verification
- Engage with insurance providers and manage pre-authorizations
- Ensure a clean and organized clinical setting
- Room patients, document vital signs, and update medical histories
- Collaborate with patients and healthcare professionals as necessary
- Maintain health records and perform organizational tasks as assigned
