Summary:

The Family Medicine Physician plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality, comprehensive primary and preventive healthcare services to patients at Alluvion Health. This position requires both independent and collaborative work with various clinic departments and healthcare providers to ensure a patient-centered approach to care. The physician will also assist in providing after-hours medical coverage to guarantee 24/7 availability for all patients and contracted services. In partnership with the Medical Director, the Family Medicine Physician will engage in the formulation and execution of policies, procedures, and protocols, while actively participating in Quality Improvement initiatives and advocating for the Patient-Centered Medical Home model.

Essential Responsibilities:

  1. Deliver primary healthcare services in accordance with established clinical practices and patient care plans.
  2. Collaborate with the Medical Director and other physicians to refine and implement clinical protocols and healthcare plans.
  3. Oversee and mentor family practice residents, medical students, and nurse practitioners as needed.
  4. Act as a role model for teamwork and maintain a positive work atmosphere.
  5. Ensure the confidentiality of all patient health information in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  6. Serve as a clinical resource for staff regarding patient care issues.
  7. Build and maintain relationships with community organizations.
  8. Prescribe medications and treatment plans based on patient assessments.
  9. Document patient interactions and care in the electronic health record system.
  10. Work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  11. Contribute to the development and revision of patient care policies based on quality improvement activities.
  12. Participate in quality improvement initiatives, particularly peer reviews of healthcare providers.
  13. Promote the mission and vision of Alluvion Health.
  14. Be flexible with work hours and available for overtime as required.
  15. Collaborate with leadership to ensure compliance with relevant healthcare regulations and reporting requirements.
  16. Engage in various committees and teams as appropriate.
  17. Stay informed about current resources and legislative changes relevant to healthcare practices.
  18. Lead meetings and workgroups as necessary.
  19. Assist in the development and enforcement of policies and procedures to enhance patient care.
  20. Maintain awareness of support staff roles to ensure continuity of services.
  21. Provide leadership and promote teamwork among employees to achieve organizational goals.

Education and Qualifications:

Education:

  • Graduation from an accredited medical school with a valid Montana medical license and full prescriptive authority.
  • Board certification or eligibility in Family Medicine is preferred.
  • Two years of clinical experience is preferred.

Certifications:

  • Active Montana medical license.
  • Board certification is preferred.
  • Valid driver's license issued by the State of Montana.

Physical Requirements:

  • Regularly required to sit and use hands for patient care and computer operations.
  • Occasionally lift and move up to 40 pounds.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and move about various settings.

Working Conditions:

  • Primarily work indoors in a climate-controlled environment.
  • Exposure to blood and body fluids may occur as part of the job.

Work Hours:

  • Full-time position, typically requiring a 40-hour workweek.
