About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Risk Management Expert to join our team as a Financial Systems Developer. This key position plays a critical role in building innovative products and infrastructure for Brex and our customers.

Job Description

The Financial Systems Developer - Risk Management Expert will be responsible for designing and developing scalable decisioning systems, ensuring high-quality data for decision-making processes, and integrating models into production. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to drive business outcomes while maintaining compliance and integrity of sensitive data.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop low-latency decision systems for assessing risk during customer onboarding, payments, authentication, and in-app experiences.
  • Collaborate with data scientists to integrate machine learning models into production, providing actionable insights for risk management and customer experience improvements.
  • Build in-product levers that enhance decisioning systems, striving to make risk management invisible and seamless for users.
  • Develop comprehensive customer due diligence systems, including KYC, sanctions, adverse media, PEP, and AML monitoring.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 4+ years of professional experience in software engineering or equivalent experience.
  • A strong fundamental knowledge of machine learning theory or systems.
  • Experience building and designing scalable decisioning systems.
  • Proficiency in backend programming languages, such as Kotlin or Python.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Bonus Requirements

Prior experience in publications or open-source projects related to data-intensive systems is highly valued.

Estimated Salary Range

$150,000 - $200,000 per year, based on industry standards and location.
