Position Overview:

We are in search of a proactive and skilled Purchasing Manager to take charge of our procurement and inventory operations at our cement production facility. In this crucial position, you will play a vital role in managing the procurement and storage functions. Your duties will encompass formulating and negotiating agreements for goods and services, ensuring adherence to compliance standards, and pinpointing opportunities for process enhancements. Collaboration with parent companies, executing competitive bidding processes, and innovating to create more efficient workflows will also be part of your responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Initiate, develop, and negotiate agreements for goods and services.
  • Ensure adherence to procurement agreements, policies, and procedures.
  • Lead initiatives for process improvements in procurement, contract management, supplier selection, sourcing of services, and inventory management.
  • Work in partnership with parent companies to utilize existing agreements and identify competitive goods and services.
  • Conduct competitive bidding and negotiate supply and service agreements.
  • Formulate and implement procurement policies, processes, and strategic plans.
  • Oversee warehouse operations, inventory flow, and associated costs.
  • Drive initiatives for inventory reduction and perform analysis on inventory levels.
  • Develop and manage key performance indicators related to procurement and inventory management.
  • Engage in annual budgeting with a focus on maintenance costs and inventory management.
  • Provide monthly accruals and cost forecasts in collaboration with the Finance team.
  • Manage contractor insurance requirements with support from the Purchasing Agent.
  • Assist plant operations as required and undertake additional duties as assigned by management.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical, economic, financial, or business discipline.
  • A minimum of five years' experience in procurement and contract management within a manufacturing or construction environment.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications.
  • Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Exceptional negotiation skills, organized, and experienced in personnel management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build relationships across all organizational levels.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple independent projects effectively.
  • Demonstrated initiative, flexibility, and adaptability.

Preferred Skills:

  • Professional accreditation such as CPM, APP, CPP, or APIC.
