Position Overview

Warsaw Federal Savings & Loan Associates is a community-focused financial institution dedicated to enhancing economic opportunities and promoting financial equity within our neighborhoods. As part of our mission, we are seeking a skilled Mortgage Loan Originator to facilitate first mortgage and home improvement loans for our clients.

Key Responsibilities

The Mortgage Loan Originator will:

  1. Engage with clients to originate one-to-four family residential loans, utilizing outreach to realtors, builders, and other community contacts.
  2. Address inquiries regarding loan products and assist customers with their applications.
  3. Stay informed on industry regulations and internal policies, participating in compliance training sessions.
  4. Advocate for our Community Reinvestment Act loan program, particularly in low-to-moderate income areas.
  5. Enhance the organization's visibility by participating in community events and networking opportunities.
  6. Cross-sell the full range of our financial products, including lending and savings options.
  7. Ensure adherence to fair lending laws and internal policies at all times.
  8. Effectively manage relationships with service providers and vendors, establishing clear expectations and performance metrics.
  9. Perform additional duties as required.

  6. Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word) is required; knowledge of Encompass, Cleartouch, OnBase, and other relevant software is a plus.

Education and Experience Requirements
  1. High School Diploma or equivalent is required; a Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  2. NMLS certification is mandatory.
  3. A minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant experience is required.

Work Environment
  • This role involves regular physical activity, including lifting, walking, standing, and sitting.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds may be required.
  • The work environment is typically quiet to moderate in noise level.
  • This position often requires work outside of a traditional office setting with flexible hours.
