Job Summary

This role is responsible for providing clinically relevant information and diagnostics to assist physicians with the diagnosis and treatment of vascular patients in an outpatient setting.

All activities should be performed consistent with the Sonographer's education and training, and in accordance with facility policies and procedures and applicable professional standards.

This is a full-time role at 40 hours per week, reporting to the Lead Registered Vascular Ultrasound Technologist for clinical matters and to the Office Manager for operational matters.

While this role will initially start as a general sonographer, the practice will reimburse the individual to take their RVT exam.

Responsibilities
  1. Prepare exam rooms and ultrasound equipment to conduct sonography examinations in accordance with infectious disease, sterilization, and patient safety protocols, policies, and procedures.
  2. Conduct patient clinical assessments and perform diagnostic medical sonography examinations ordered by the supervising physician in accordance with professional and facility protocols.
  3. Apply independent, professional, ethical judgment, and critical thinking to safely perform diagnostic sonography procedures.
  4. Apply independent judgment during the sonography examination to ensure that appropriate anatomical, pathological, and clinical conditions are accurately captured in the examination images.
  5. As necessary, acquire additional ultrasound imaging to facilitate optimum diagnostic results for the interpreting physician.
  6. Identify and document any limitations to the sonography examination.
  7. Adhere to all requirements for accreditations, including quality assurance reviews.
  8. Review examination images, synthesize examination results, and prepare preliminary reports for providers.
  9. Ensure reports are complete with all billing requirements.
  10. Perform quality control procedures to ensure that the ultrasound equipment operates at optimal levels and manage a preventive maintenance program for ultrasound equipment.
  11. Assist with the daily operation of the sonography facility.
  12. Assist in prioritizing assigned work based on workflow fluctuations.
  13. Complete ad hoc projects as needed.
Requirements
  1. Graduate of an ultrasound program or formal training program.
  2. ARDMS certification required.
  3. Additional RVT or RVS certification preferred.
  4. Minimum of two (2) years ultrasound technologist experience preferred.
  5. Excellent customer service skills.
  6. Ability to work and prosper in a team environment.
  7. Willingness to be available for local and/or regional assignments as needed.
  8. Willingness to learn and deliver new modalities, products, and services as introduced.
