Abe Brown Ministries (ABM) is a non-profit, faith-based organization with over 45 years of service. Our inspHire Program focuses on providing job placement and support services for individuals with a history of incarceration, irrespective of their religious beliefs, who are transitioning back into the community.

Position Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Re-Entry Program Career Coach to oversee the comprehensive client placement process within the ABM Re-Entry Program. The Career Coach will empower clients to apply career development concepts to real-world employment scenarios, set professional objectives, and develop strategies for sustained workplace success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Client Support:
    • Engage with clients during Professional Development sessions to identify job skills for matching with employment opportunities.
    • Assist in ensuring clients complete essential deliverables such as the Wonderlic Test, Resume, State of Florida Application, and Mock Interview.
    • Facilitate the completion of Interest Inventory Assessments and Employment Profiles.
    • Conduct evaluations to assess client strengths and areas for improvement.
    • Review case notes to coach clients on tailored employment plans and job market strategies.
    • Deliver case management and assessment activities as per organizational needs.
    • Organize and lead workshops on employability skills, utilizing case studies and relevant data.
    • Ensure clients pass pre-interview drug screenings prior to interviews.
    • Provide transportation for clients to interviews when necessary.
    • Conduct debriefing sessions with clients post-interview and ensure follow-up correspondence is sent.
    • Collaborate with clients, Business Development Managers, and Case Managers to prepare for the first day of work.
    • Maintain ongoing communication with clients to address job-related concerns and document interactions.
    • Coordinate vocational training opportunities with community partners.
  • Collaboration:
    • Hold weekly meetings with the Business Development Manager to discuss client readiness and job opportunities.
    • Schedule employability workshops in conjunction with the Professional Development Instructor.
    • Assist in planning and facilitating professional development modules as needed.
  • Community Engagement:
    • Understand community business needs and promote the value of the ex-offender population to employers.
    • Conduct regular site visits to strengthen employer-employee relationships during the probationary period.
    • Organize community service activities to enhance service awareness.
    • Engage in outreach efforts to educate potential partners about service solutions.
  • Administrative Duties:
    • Stay informed about federal and state laws and initiatives that support the ex-offender population.
    • Prepare professional reports and documentation for the Re-Entry Program.
    • Ensure accuracy and timeliness of all data and reports.
    • Submit relevant documentation regarding client progress for service tracking.
    • Manage the Fidelity Bond Certification process as applicable.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required; master's degree preferred.
  • Career Coach Certification is advantageous; certification must be obtained during employment if not already held.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in human services.
  • Proficient in computer use and adaptable to new software.
  • Demonstrated success in business-to-business sales in a performance-oriented environment.
  • Experience working with underserved populations and individuals in crisis.
  • Strong documentation and communication skills.
  • Able to establish rapport with diverse families and communities.
  • Capable of motivating others to achieve their goals.
  • Must maintain confidentiality regarding clients and colleagues.
  • Valid Driver's License and ability to operate a vehicle legally.
  • Professional appearance in accordance with company dress code.
  • Previous experience in job coaching within a non-profit context is a plus.
