Position Overview: We are seeking a driven Production Technician to become an integral part of our R&D scientific team. This non-exempt role is essential in the development of IVD point-of-care immunoassays for the swift detection of infectious pathogens. The Production Technician will report directly to the lead scientist and R&D manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting daily testing required for all phases of lateral flow assay production under the guidance of senior scientists and technical leads.
  • Assisting with laboratory operations, including organization, inventory management, equipment quality control, and preparation of buffers and reagents.
  • Providing support for additional tasks as needed.

Essential Skills:

  • Strong proficiency in laboratory techniques, organizational skills, and documentation practices.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Capability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to design and experimental modifications.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in handling clinical biological samples, including urine, swabs, saliva, and blood.

Work Environment:

  • This role involves working in a Biosafety Level 2 laboratory (BSL-2) and a humidity-controlled setting.
  • Attention to detail is crucial for the production and inspection of lateral flow assay products.
  • The position requires the capability to lift up to 30lbs with assistance.

Educational Background:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry, Biology, Microbiology, Biotechnology, or a related discipline.
  • 0-2 years of relevant professional experience.
