Position Overview

The Caregiver reports directly to the Wellness Director and Wellness Manager, delivering essential services and care tailored to each Resident's individual Service Plan.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist Residents with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, eating, toileting, hygiene, and mobility as required.
  • Monitor each Resident's overall physical and mental well-being, promptly reporting any changes to the Wellness Director.
  • Maintain an adequate inventory of medical supplies and assist with procurement as needed.
  • Support shift coverage arrangements during unexpected absences.
  • Help organize and maintain assignments for the Wellness Director.
  • Assist in the orientation and onboarding of new Caregivers.
  • Respond to Resident emergencies, providing first aid and coordinating necessary medical follow-up.
  • Help Residents keep their living spaces clean, organized, and tidy.
  • Promptly attend to calls for assistance and address Resident needs.
  • Assist Residents with laundry and clothing needs as directed.
  • Support meal selection, service, and feeding as assigned.
  • Participate in assigned activity programs.
  • Maintain accurate records in accordance with policy.
  • Manage files as necessary.
  • Engage in a minimum of 6 hours of in-service education annually.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Compliance and Safety:
  • Adhere to all emergency protocols.
  • Understand and follow all safety policies and procedures.
  • Effective Communication:
  • Communicate efficiently with the Wellness Director and other staff members.
  • Immediately inform the Wellness Director and/or Wellness Manager of any changes in a Resident's physical or mental health.
Qualifications:
  • Current State Nurse's Aide registration is preferred but not required.
  • Experience and enthusiasm for working with seniors.
  • Able to perform physically demanding tasks, including pushing, bending, and lifting up to 60 pounds.
  • Capable of fostering positive relationships with Residents, their families, peers, and other staff members.
  • In good physical and emotional health, free from communicable diseases.
Physical Demands:
  • Physically capable of bending and reaching.
  • Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 60 pounds as needed.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • May require the use of a Hoyer Lift.
Additional Information:
  • May be required to work weekends and holidays as assigned.
  • May need to work shifts other than the one for which hired.
  • May be required to work extended hours (up to 16 hours per day).
  • Subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases, and conditions.
  • May encounter emotionally distressed Residents due to mental health conditions.
  • Background checks, criminal history, and drug testing may be required.
  • May be subject to random drug testing during employment.
