Job Overview

Supervisor: Foreman

Position Summary: Responsible for the installation of piping systems for stormwater management, sewage disposal, drainage, and potable water supply. Tasks include trench grading, pipe positioning, and joint sealing. Excludes roles such as 'Welder, Cutter, Solderer, and Brazer'.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize tools such as lasers, grade rods, and transit levels for precise installation.
  • Construct and maintain sanitary and stormwater sewer systems and associated piping.
  • Join pipe segments and secure joints using welding tools, adhesives, or cement.
  • Verify slopes and alignments meet specified requirements using levels or lasers.
  • Cut pipes to specified lengths as needed.
  • Align and prepare pipes for welding or sealing processes.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and report unsafe conditions to the supervisor or Human Resources.
  • Engage in collaborative team efforts to meet departmental and organizational objectives.
  • Exemplify leadership by sharing knowledge and skills with team members.
  • Perform additional tasks as required.

Qualifications:

  • Proficient communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to navigate a construction site, including climbing, operating heavy machinery, and lifting up to 50 pounds.

Safety Compliance: The employee must be familiar with and adhere to the company's safety protocols as outlined in the safety manual.

Education: Less than a High School Diploma.

Experience: Preferred three or more years of relevant construction experience.

Physical Demands: The role requires heavy physical activity, involving strenuous tasks of a primarily technical nature.

Manual Skills: Adequate manual dexterity to handle tools and materials effectively.

Work Environment: This position involves outdoor work with exposure to varying weather conditions, including rain, sun, snow, and wind. Employees may encounter extreme temperatures, wet conditions, and loud noise levels. Reasonable accommodations may be provided for individuals with disabilities.
