Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Manager to lead technical teams in support of various projects for our Client Advanced Optics (AO) division.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in project management, leadership, and technical expertise, with the ability to drive progress from project initiation through delivery.

The Project Manager will be responsible for defining and executing overall project plans, including project schedules, budgets, and people resource needs, to enable programs to scale appropriately in each stage to meet technical, schedule, and cost targets.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on project management experience, with a strong track record of leading technical teams and working with internal stakeholders to execute programs.

The Project Manager will also be responsible for monitoring for changes in project requirements, scope, or assumptions, and for setting key project messages and managing the flow of information related to project direction, issues, needs, and progress with key project stakeholders.

The successful candidate will be a self-starter with a strong entrepreneurial attitude and approach toward the creation of new programs, and will have a proven ability to work cross-functionally (commercial, technical, technology) and to track and manage project spending, resources & schedule.

The Project Manager will also be responsible for utilizing Client's Tollgate process to direct program activities, and for overseeing product testing and evaluation to ensure that project requirements are met.

Requirements

  • Minimum Bachelor's in a technical field required
  • 3-5 years of hands-on project management experience
  • Project management / leadership
  • Ability to lead technical team in resolution of problems and execution of strategy
  • Ability to interact with key stakeholders, building strong relationships for success
  • Ability to work cross functionally (commercial, technical, technology)
  • Able to track and manage project spending, resources & schedule
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office tools: Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Proficient with project management tools: MS Project, risk assessment, scope management, etc.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities, including application of appropriate methodologies
  • Able to make sound decisions by blending analytical thinking with practical judgment
  • Ability to discern technical approaches by asking the right questions of teams
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, both formal and informal
  • Ability to articulate clear direction, risks, and project purpose across multiple organizational levels (management to project team)
