Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Nursing Supervisor to join our team at Ascension St. Vincent in Indianapolis, IN. As a Nursing Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our 46-bed medical-surgical unit, ensuring high-quality patient care and a positive work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of clinical and non-clinical staff, ensuring effective communication and teamwork.
  • Assess patient care needs and develop patient care assignments, ensuring that population-appropriate care is provided.
  • Delegate tasks to staff based on their assessed skills and abilities, in accordance with the applicable State Nurse Practice Act.
  • Evaluate the care delivered by staff and provide direct and immediate feedback and coaching, as needed.
  • Participate in the hiring process for new staff members and make recommendations to the clinical leader.
Requirements
  • BLS Provider certification obtained within 1 month of hire date or job transfer date required.
  • Registered Nurse licensure from the Indiana Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • 1 year of cumulative job-specific experience required.
Preferred Qualifications

1 year of Charge Nurse or other unit leadership experience preferred.
