Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nursing Supervisor to join our Cardiology team at Ascension Health. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of clinical and non-clinical staff, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and achieving clinical objectives.

Responsibilities
  • Assess daily patient care needs and develop and distribute patient care assignments to ensure population-appropriate care.
  • Delegate duties to clinical and non-clinical staff based on their assessed skills and abilities, in accordance with the applicable State Nurse Practice Act.
  • Gather information from other team members and use it to plan for the care of all patients on the unit for the shift.
  • Evaluate the care delivered by staff and provide direct and immediate feedback and coaching, as well as ongoing verbal and written feedback to the clinical leader.
  • Participate in the hiring process for new staff members and conduct interviews and make hiring recommendations to the clinical leader.
Requirements
  • BLS Provider certification obtained within 1 month of hire date or job transfer date required.
  • Registered Nurse credentialed from the Indiana Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
Preferred Qualifications

RN with previous cardiology experience to supervise office RNs and manage staff schedules, including time off and coordinating with THC RN supervisor to provide adequate staffing at both locations.
