Senior Residency Coordinator

NYU Grossman School of Medicine is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Residency Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our residency program, you will be responsible for coordinating all activities related to departmental residency programs and providing support to departmental residency program leadership.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage materials for specialty-specific national, annual in-service trainee examination, and proctor exams.
  • Liaise and communicate with all appropriate campus offices and affiliated hospitals.
  • Provide support to and work closely with the Program Director, meeting regularly to keep them apprised of important issues related to the program and trainees.
  • Compile annually a comprehensive record of the number and types of operative procedures performed by each resident completing the program.
  • Prepare and submit all information required and requested by the ACGME for annual evaluation of the program.
  • Obtain review and approval of the sponsoring institution's GMEC/DIO before submitting information or requests to the ACGME.
  • Provide verification of residency education for all residents, including those who leave the program prior to completion.
  • Coordinate all aspects of the residency recruitment and selection process.
  • Manage the NYU GME Book and Conference reimbursement program for residents.
  • Develop all materials used by faculty during the interview of candidates.
  • Act as a liaison between the program and prospective candidates.
  • Maintain confidential information regarding applicants and interviews.
  • Prepare applicant ranking materials.
  • Organize rank order meetings for the Resident Selection Committee.
  • Ensure compliance with departmental policies and procedures.
  • Provide administrative supervision and guidance to residents regarding administrative issues.
  • Act as a liaison between residents and hospital administration.
  • Manage the completion and timely submission of the Program Information Forms (PIFs) and the Self-Study Summaries for ACGME accreditation site visit reviews.
  • Assist the Program Director in development of program evaluations.
  • Provide administrative support to the Program Director and Associate Program Director.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, healthcare administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of four years of progressively responsible related experience, including program/project coordination or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Two years of experience in residency program coordination preferred.
  • C-TAGME qualification preferred.
