Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineering Technician to join our team at Chenega MIOS SBU. As a key member of our engineering team, you will assist in the development of mechanical engineering statements of work, coordinate with contractors, and ensure the quality of construction projects.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the development of mechanical engineering statements of work, including designs, drawings, and specifications.
  • Coordinate with contractors to ensure compliance with contract requirements and quality standards.
  • Monitor construction projects to ensure they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Review and respond to contractor submittals and requests for information.
  • Provide technical support to the construction team, including design and technical expertise.
  • Assist in the preparation of inspection reports and quality assurance activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Construction Manager or Contracting Officer.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 5+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, design development, and construction management.
  • Strong technical knowledge of mechanical systems, including design, development, and installation.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Background check required with the ability to obtain an interim secret or secret clearance.
Working Conditions

The employee will normally work in a temperature-controlled office environment, with frequent exposure to electronic office equipment. During visits to areas of operations, may be exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions.
