Job Summary

The After School Program Site Supervisor is a key leadership role at the YMCA of Collier County Inc., responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and supervision of the After School Program. This position requires a strong leader who can manage a team, ensure excellent after-school care, and maintain compliance with YMCA standards and Department of Children and Families regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and schedule support staff to maintain proper adult/child ratios.
  • Manage all assigned staff, addressing issues in a professional manner and documenting such issues appropriately.
  • Maintain up-to-date, accurate, and complete written records on all enrolled children.
  • Complete weekly attendance records in the format required by the RFQ contract.
  • Follow up with support staff on mandated trainings and in-service hours needed.
  • Attend bi-weekly meetings with the School Age Manager and monthly/bi-monthly meetings with ASPIRE staff.
  • Maintain all standards, policies, and procedures for After School Programs as required by the Department of Children and Families, the RFQ, and the YMCA.
  • Develop a positive relationship with parents by creating ample opportunities for communication and being open to their requests whenever possible.
  • Inventory Program equipment and supplies and notify the School Age Manager when more are needed, while maintaining the allotted budget.
  • Observe behaviors and development levels of the children and keep written records when problems or concerns arise; inform the School Age Manager when a parent conference is warranted and initiate and participate in the conference.
  • Collect and record weekly payment of fees from parents and ensure that all payments are processed into the Daxko system in a timely manner and with accuracy.
  • Notify all necessary school staff of any roster changes via email every week, and as they occur.
  • Create a group email and send a minimum of one email per week to the families with highlights, reminders, events/activities. Keep the School Age Manager informed of all program issues as they arise, especially when related to the children's behavior and development.
  • Be familiar with YMCA mission, policies, and procedures.
  • Participate in YMCA programs, promotions, fundraisers, and events.
  • Help members and participants make connections to others and to the YMCA; practice effective relationship-building techniques; provide a Quality Experience for Members, Participants, Internal Customers, and Others: respond to concerns and complaints in a way that makes each person feel valued; follow standards, policies, and procedures; actively participate in staff meetings, required trainings, and other work-related activities; meet all Department of Children and Family standards.
  • Certification in Infant, Child, and Adult CPR, and Basic First Aid.
  • Completion of the state-issued Director's Credential within one year of hire for sites under the RFQ contract.
  • Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.

  • Must be able to stand, remain outdoors, and maintain continual physical endurance for extended periods of time. Must be able to speak, read, and write fluently in the English language.
  • Completion of 45-hour Child Care course required by the State of Florida - must enroll for class within 30 days of employment.
  • Completion of YMCA Child Sexual Abuse Prevention and Appropriate Touch classes.
  • Completion of the YMCA's Blood Borne Pathogens training.
  • Completion of the Social Media & Digital Communications class.
  • Completion of the YMCA's Safe Lifting training.
  • Additional training classes as required for this position to meet YMCA quality standards.
