Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled Transportation Broker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in freight brokerage and customer service, with excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Key Responsibilities- Contact new customers and develop relationships to increase profitable volume
- Freight brokerage and booking loads, including managing incoming and outgoing shipping logistics
- Be responsible for customer acquisitions and building relationships with developing accounts
- Develop and increase profitable volume with existing and newly acquired shippers
- Build relationships with carriers and negotiate rates
- Gain up-to-date knowledge of market freight rates to determine fair prices
- Recommend solutions for customers to senior transportation brokers and/or management
- Deliver exceptional customer service and uphold company standards
- College degree highly desired or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in freight brokerage/customer service
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Strong customer service orientation and excellent work ethic
- Ability to quickly process information and make decisions
