ROLE SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the before and after school program, ensuring a safe and engaging environment for children. The Site Coordinator will work closely with the Program Director to develop and implement program plans, train staff, and supervise daily activities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and implement program plans that meet the needs of children and families
  • Train and supervise staff to ensure high-quality programming
  • Ensure a safe and healthy environment for children, including maintaining a clean and organized space
  • Communicate effectively with children, families, and staff to ensure a positive and inclusive environment
  • Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness, making adjustments as needed
  • Collaborate with the Program Director to develop and implement policies and procedures
  • Ensure compliance with YMCA policies, procedures, and regulations
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Director

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Successfully complete State of Florida Criminal History Background Check requirements as well as meet the Association's policies on background screening
  • Prior experience working with children and supervising staff
  • Willingness to carry out the Mission of the YMCA and its programs
  • Professional appearance and behavior
  • Able to prioritize and meet deadlines and maintain confidentiality
  • Must be a self-starter, with high energy and a positive attitude
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills
  • Adhere to drug/alcohol/smoke free workplace policy

CERTIFICATIONS AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:

  • CPR and First Aid Certifications required
  • Annual completion of YMCA's Blood Borne Pathogens training
  • Annual completion of YMCA of the USA Child Abuse and Neglect class
  • 40 clock hours of Introduction to Child Care Training class
  • 5 clock hours of Early Literacy and Language Development Training class
  • 40 clock hours of annual In-Service training completed between July 1st and June 30th of each calendar year
  • Staff Safety Requirements/Cleaning Protocols
  • Additional training classes as recommended by Supervisor
