Key Responsibilities:
As an Aerospace Systems Engineer, you will:
- Generate comprehensive requirements, specifications, and design documents including block diagrams, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Create layout drawings, bills of material, flight manual supplements, and test plans/reports for the design, development, and integration of complex aircraft electrical and avionics systems.
- Manage overall systems and electrical engineering deliverables, ensuring adherence to technical requirements, schedules, and specifications.
- Monitor project engineering budgets and variances, reporting as necessary.
- Coordinate data submissions to support FAA certification processes.
- Actively participate in Preliminary Design Reviews (PDRs) and Critical Design Reviews (CDRs).
- Collaborate with other Engineering Leads and departments to ensure all design requirements are clearly defined and provide accurate estimates for required activities.
- Conduct technical reviews of drawings to minimize rework at the production level.
- Provide timely technical support to production, quality, and other departments regarding design data interpretation and implementation.
Essential Skills:
- Authorization to work in the U.S.
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or five years of relevant experience.
- Strong understanding of design practices to comply with FAA regulations and policies.
- Ability to work independently or collaboratively to resolve issues.
- Self-motivated with a knack for generating innovative solutions.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and familiarity with Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Capability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 60 lbs., bending, kneeling, and stretching as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- DER authorization is a plus but not mandatory.
