Bariatric Nutrition Specialist

Job Summary:

The Bariatric Registered Dietitian plays a crucial role in the Ambulatory Care team at Ventura County. As a member of this team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality nutrition assessment, medical nutrition therapy, and education to patients undergoing bariatric surgery. Your expertise will help ensure patients receive the best possible care, resulting in optimal health outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive nutrition assessments of bariatric surgery candidates and patients.
• Develop and implement individualized nutrition care plans and medical nutrition therapy for bariatric surgery patients.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary care teams to provide patient-centered care.
• Provide education and support to patients and their families on healthy eating habits and lifestyle changes.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest research and evidence-based practices in bariatric nutrition.

Requirements:

• Current Commission of Dietetic Registration (CDR) registration.
• At least two years of clinical experience as a Registered Dietitian, with a focus on bariatric nutrition.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
