  • Plan and organize internal audit assignments to assess the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls and risk management processes.
  • Represent the Internal Audit Department in an advisory capacity to assist business unit management in assessing internal controls, procedures, and systems.
  • Perform risk analysis, identify internal controls, and design and execute audit tests of controls and transactions to determine the extent to which assets are safeguarded, policies and procedures are complied with, goals and objectives are achieved, management information is reliable, and operations are effective and efficient.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with a working knowledge of financial institution operations, policies, and procedures.
  • Professional certification in an audit-related discipline (CPA, CIA, CBA, CRCM, or CISA) is desirable.
  • Working knowledge of consumer compliance and banking regulations and laws is a plus.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret government regulations.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision and meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Completion of Georgia Bankers Audit School or other internal audit training may be required as deemed necessary by the Chief Audit Executive.
  • Work assignments may be in areas including, but not limited to, commercial and consumer lending, commercial operations, corporate accounting, human resources, funds management and liquidity, investments, bank operations, compliance, and capital markets.
