Join Our Team as a Senior Advisor, Regulatory Accounting and Analysis

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Advisor, Regulatory Accounting and Analysis to join our team at Southern California Edison. As a key member of our accounting team, you will be responsible for providing expert guidance on regulatory accounting and analysis, ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and regulatory requirements. Your expertise will be crucial in developing and implementing processes and controls to ensure timely and accurate submission of deliverables.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the general ledger and month-end close entries and related processes
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
• Develop and implement processes and controls to ensure timely and accurate submission of deliverables
• Drive the integrity of financial systems and maintain accounts and records in areas such as assets, liabilities, equity, income, and expense
• Lead an efficient month-end closing process, actual, forecast analysis, and reconciliations, and general ledger activities
• Analyze and interpret financial and accounting data to provide guidance for decision-making
• Establish, maintain, and document appropriate policies, procedures, and internal controls for the department
• Coordinate and support internal and external audits, including preparing audit schedules and responding to auditor inquiries
• Design, maintain, and modify accounting systems to ensure adequate recognition of financial transactions
• Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries into accounts, such as general ledger accounts, and document business transactions

Requirements

• Ten or more years of experience in accounting or related fields
• Experience with interpreting and applying GAAP

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or higher in accounting or related field
• Certified Public Accountant (active or inactive)
• Experience in a public accounting firm and/or regulated utility
• Effective communication of accounting issues and business processes to peers, clients, management, and other organizations
