Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Mixing Operator I to join our production team at Thorne Research Inc. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and integrity of our products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Follow production department procedures and perform specific duties based on standard operating procedures (SOPs) and good manufacturing practices (GMPs).
  • Take a total quality approach to conduct, operate machines, and produce Thorne products.
  • Commit to the mixing credentialed training program to acquire proper operating knowledge, skills, and experience.
  • Set up and operate mixing equipment for smooth operation and maximum output while maintaining quality and integrity of the product.
  • Notify lead/supervisor of any machine problems or anomalies that affect output and the well-being of the equipment or the quality of the product.
  • Gain sufficient knowledge of weighing, sifting, milling, roller compaction, and blending equipment to make adjustments without supervision.
  • Awareness of cross-contamination issues and take proper precautions to prevent contamination.
  • Properly weigh out ingredients, record weights accurately, and neatly on paperwork as directed by the control batch documents and department SOPs.
  • Properly enter and calculate dispensing weights using a calculator for accuracy and secure a validating second sign off.
  • Learn and maintain all technical procedures related to assembly, disassembly, and cleaning of equipment and maintain the overall condition of machine parts and machine.
  • Collect required quantity of samples, perform slug tests, and other tests as required.
  • Operate forklifts properly and maintain annual certification.
Requirements
  • High school diploma required; prior manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Ability to lift approximately 66 pounds from floor to shoulder height while maintaining full control of product on a regular basis.
  • Math ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in units of measurement used in the production department.
  • Ability to work a 2nd shift schedule with some overtime required.
