As a Loss Prevention Specialist (LPS), your responsibilities will significantly influence the safety of the store and enhance the overall shopping experience for our patrons. By demonstrating a commanding presence, understanding theft patterns, and projecting a positive image of control, your vigilance at store entrances, exits, and areas prone to theft will play a crucial role in reducing incidents of theft and ensuring a safe, enjoyable shopping environment.

You will interact with our customers and team members in alignment with our core values, delivering a confident, warm, and enthusiastic greeting with eye contact and a smile during every interaction.

Your discipline, situational awareness, and dedication to upholding safety and security protocols will be essential as you monitor the entrance throughout your shift, focusing on minimizing opportunities for theft, shoplifting, and other dishonest behaviors.

Your confidence, positive demeanor, and expertise in loss prevention strategies will positively influence behaviors, allowing you to effectively cultivate trust and respect among customers and colleagues.

You will serve as a key partner to store and field leadership by identifying and reporting theft incidents and/or suspicious individuals to your Manager on Duty as soon as they are recognized.

Command Presence:

  • Maintain a professional appearance at all times, adhering to the designated dress code, including radio and earpiece.
  • Position yourself at the front of the store, remaining alert and aware of your surroundings.
  • Greet every customer entering or exiting the store with a friendly smile and a loud, welcoming greeting, fostering a sense of control and security.
  • Create a secure environment and reduce opportunities for theft.

Knowledge and Communication:

  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of key theft areas and support programs aimed at loss prevention.
  • Effectively communicate theft prevention strategies during store meetings, collaborating with the Manager on Duty.
  • Conduct bag and package checks on store and corporate associates, ensuring compliance with safety and security standards.
  • Understand your role in maintaining the safety and security of the store and its assets.

Support and Guidance:

  • Assist in training associates on loss prevention programs and procedures.
  • Model safety as a top priority and address any unsafe practices promptly.

Experience and Responsibilities:

  • 1+ years of experience in customer service, hospitality, retail, or loss prevention is preferred.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and visually monitor the store environment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality is required.
  • Ability to analyze and comprehend business trends.
  • Exhibit a positive demeanor, strong posture, and energetic greeting.
  • Work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment with attention to detail and disciplined decision-making.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills with customers and co-workers.
  • Possess strong leadership abilities that foster productive business relationships.
